Malaka Elyazgi is Oklahoma bred and chairwoman of Gov. Brad Henry’s Ethnic American Advisory Council. She is the mother of six children. She wears a traditional head covering known as a hijab. Elyazgi is a Muslim.
Emily Dyson, 21, is a senior at the University of Oklahoma majoring in ballet. Her program requires her to participate in12-15 hours of out-side-of-class rehearsals, which is expected. However, the punishment for failure to look "aesthetically pleasing" may not be.
